Many times it's irritating to have a large sized images attached with e-mails. Usually people attach their photos directly copied from digital cameras which have big size. If you just want to see the photos on your computer monitor then there is no need to send such huge files. You can simply resize it to reduce the file size.
Here is a step by step tutorial on how you can reduce the size of images. You don't even need any special software to do that. Your MS-Office already have a Office Picture manager which you can use to do the task.
1. Right click on the image and open with Microsoft Office Picture manager
2. Click on Edit picture Button at the top
3. Click 'resize' or 'compress Pictures' at the right side task bar
4. Now Select Document or Web options from dropdown menu. If you click on Compress pictures then select 'Web Pages'.
5. Now save your image. Now the image is reduced to smaller size. This you can attach to e-mails and send it.
